Vertical Apparatus Technique w/ Emma Cat

5:30 - 7:00 PM
This workshop is geared toward intermediate to advanced students of vertical apparatus. In this class, we will focus on select foundational yet challenging movements that are key to vertical apparatus such as climbs, s-wrap and catchers entrances, back balance, hip key, transitions, and more. Please also bring any questions regarding current skills you have trouble with and we can address those as well. Prerequisites include two consecutive straddle-ups in the air on silks or rope, ability to stay in the air for at least one minute at a time on silks or rope, and ability to hang with straight arms from silk or rope for 30 seconds.

Emma Cat is a dynamic aerial performer and instructor who has been pursuing the art since 2012. First falling in love with the silks, and more recently adding aerial rope to her repertoire. She began her training in Columbia, MO, founding Como Aerial Arts, a club specializing in aerial silk instruction and local performance. In 2015, she began performing with Quixotic in Kansas City, and moved there in 2016 to pursue a performance career further. She continues to teach lessons in aerial silks, rope, and flexibility. In addition to her aerial work, Emma practices Ashtanga yoga and has begun her training in massage therapy. She plans to continue to teach and perform, as well as continue her aerial education through various trainings.
